The Open Source : what is it?

First of all, Open Source is a concept. It is a question of proposing a software (free or paying) whose user can modify whole or part.

It is a simple concept which proposes a powerful dynamism!

For example: John downloads PLICI and modifies it to add a new functionality. Then he decides to transmit his changes in order to integrate them into PLICI. As soon as John’s changes are integrated, everybody dispose of this new functionality. It’s necessary to take into account that John is going to benefit from advertising for his development, so the sharing is fair.

The evolution of PLICI quickly becomes exponential. So, PLICI, which is available in Open Source, becomes a current tool and even more a tool of tomorrow.

The regulator: SimpliciWeb

The first role of SimpliciWeb is precisely to supervise the evolution of the community to maintain the quality of PLICI. All our energy is used to maintain the specific axis such as:
- Quality of the product
- Ergonomics
- Simplicity and effectiveness
- Safety

To develop these concepts, it’s important to note that SimpliciWeb is made up of the founders of PLICI project. These founders maintain a philosophy which is anchored in their character: transparency.

We always do it by expressing us in a transparent way. Moreover, to promote PLICI and to make it evolve, we need financial means and for this reason we intervene on PLICI for developments as well as services.

There is an idea that we must fight everyday:
“PLICI is free and you add services around, I do not find that logical”
PLICI being distributed free, it can be difficult to conceive that there exist services around this software.
However, to have PLICI free is nevertheless a beautiful economy, isn’t it?

It is besides our ideology: 
“You pay only for what doesn’t exist in PLICI”

Indeed, the services that we propose to you are not included in PLICI and mobilize time and energy to bring a real added-value to you.

Specific developments

All our developments are redistributed to the community (except an indication of the customer).
Our customers profit from the new functionalities present in PLICI and quickly understand the interest which they have in working with an Open Source software as well as specialized people receiving benefits.
It is clear that we provide them a tool which will be able to follow the evolution of their company.
